Radka Kahledfeldt Wins Ironman 70.3 Subic Bay!
14 March 2017
Radka Kahlefeldt goes three-for-three, winning her third triathlon of the year, this time an Ironman 70.3. At last year’s Subic Bay race she settled for second place to rival Caroline Steffen, but this year the tables were turned and Kahlefeldt came out on top by over three and a half minutes.
Steffen lead the women’s pro field out of the water, with Kahlefeldt behind by a short two seconds. The duo stayed together through the 56 mile bike course and exited the bike/run transition just seconds apart. Kahlefeldt made her breakaway almost immediately and ran away from Steffen with a blistering half marathon pace of 1:24:24.
“I felt good and I am very happy about this win. Caroline Steffen and I race each other often and she won last year, so I’m happy to have come in first this year,” said Kahlefeldt.
Radka will race her next Ironman 70.3 in Taitung, Taiwan this Sunday, March 19.
